by Mariah Robinson

Zachary Scott, a freshman at the University of South Carolina for Mechanical Engineering and Business Management, will bring his studies to Beaufort this summer. Scott will provide painting services with Student Painters, an organization dedicated to training students in management, organization skills and the painting business.

“Student Painters is training me to run my own painting company this summer in the Beaufort/Lady’s Island area,” said Scott. “I’ll gain experience I simply cannot learn in the classroom.”

Scott and his employees, also students, will provide high quality painting services at student rates. Student Painters provides a full-year warranty on all jobs and liability insurance.

“I have learned that to run a profitable business it is essential that my employees and I provide a top-notch service. I will be working full-time this summer and expect 100% from my staff,” Scott explained.

Prior to departing for USC, Scott lived in Beaufort. He attended Battery Creek High School where he served as the Class President before attending South Carolina’s Governors School for Science and Mathematics where he earned both a high school and SCGSSM diploma.

“During my spring semester at USC, I will be returning home to Beaufort to market my business and offer free estimates,” said Scott.
